DEREK WALRO

Derek Walro

Position: Center Mid

Club Team: Everest

Favorite Sports Team: Steelers

Favorite Soccer Memory: Beating CVCA 1-0.

What motivates you to play? Everyone saying that I wouldnt be good enough when I was younger.

What do you bring to the team? Physical play, leadership, and a lot of laughs.

What are your expectations for the season? I would like to get at least 7 goals and 7 assists. I would like to win Districts for the 4th straight season. I would like to make a state title run and beat CVCA.

Coaches Comments: Derek plays a position (holding midfielder) that does not receive much glory, but is vital to the success of a team. He has embraced that role and has established a good rhythm early in the season. He was selected as the Week 2 Player of the Week not just for his effort defensively, but his timely distribution and early game winning goal against Marlington. He also boasted a 5.8:1 possession to turnover ratio during those two games.
